Through the Telescope is a picture book poem that is a joy to read aloud. Author Charles R. Smith, Jr.’s text is warm and wonderous; full of facts and joy. Smith’s use of phrasing is superb, and each word is meticulously planned.
Artist Evening Monteiro’s magical illustrations are full of movement and awe. His use of perspective and light are beautiful.
Through the Telescope is a great choice for kids who love space, especially future astronauts who feel the same way Mae did as a child.
