Clifford Dream Big is joyful celebration of continued growth

    0
By Jessica on January 16, 2026 ages 4 & up, picture books

DREAM BIG (CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG), by Norman Bridwell, Meredith Rusu, Jo Anne Davies, Scholastic Inc., Jan. 6, 2026, Hardcover, $19.99 (ages 4-8)

Clifford the Big Red Dog and his best friend, Emily Elizabeth, inspire readers to keep growing in Dream Big, by Norman Bridwell, Meredith Rusu and Jo Anne Davies.

“When I was little, my parents used to tell me if I dreamed big, anything was possible.
They said the sky was the limit.
And I would tell Clifford the same thing!”

Clifford and his best friend, Emily Elizabeth, both started out small in a big world. But they grew big together and learned to keep dreaming, even when they felt small. When they were feeling scared, they had each other to lean on. And when one of them needed help, their best friend was always there to lend a helping hand (or paw!). —Synopsis provided by Scholastic Inc.

Clifford is beloved across generations, and there’s good reason. The loveable Big Red Dog is friendly and gets into relatable, although decidedly bigger, mischief and fun.

In Dream Big, Emily Elizabeth shares how growing up isn’t just a size thing. It’s a charming book meant for fun and to inspire. And it makes for a nostalgic gift for big milestones. You really can’t go wrong with it.
