Can You Find Steve? Fun picture book builds on duck-hiding trend

CAN YOU FIND STEVE? by Highlights, Highlights Press, Feb. 24, 2026, Hardcover, $18.99 (ages 6-9)

There’s a tiny duck that’s missing, and it’s up to you to find him in Can You Find Steve?, a search-and-find book from Highlights.

Meet Steve, a tiny duck with a giant personality and a serious talent for hide-and-seek. That’s why he’s challenging you, the reader, to find him in every puzzle.

But when Steve’s not-so-stealthy dino neighbor, Hank, joins the fun, things go hilariously off track. Find Steve (and Hank!) in this Where’s Waldo meets TikTok duck-hiding adventure. Comes with five tiny Steves to hide in the real world.

Steve is a duck. A very small duck. And he lives for hide-and-seek—though his plans don’t always go as expected thanks to Hank, his sweet but clueless dino sidekick. In every photo-packed puzzle, readers will search for Steve’s latest hiding spot, laugh at his cheeky commentary, and enjoy the growing chaos as Hank tries (and fails) to stay hidden too. —Synopsis provided by Highlights Press

Can you Find Steve? is inspired by the viral duck-hiding trend on TikTok, Jeeps and cruise ships. But do you know another group that will love Steve?

    Swimmers.

Particularly age-group swimmers. Swimmers who are just about to compete at state and national meets. Swimmers who collect ducks in all shapes and sizes. Swimmers who win ducks at meets instead of ribbons. Swimmers like my kid, who not only collects ducks but also wears glasses. It’s like Steve was tailor made with her in mind.

Truthfully, Can You Find Steve? has broad appeal.

It comes five ducks for kids to hide at home, in the classroom, or out in the wild. And it’s humorous, interactive, full of bright colors and has a nice helping of fun attitude. Most kids will love it.

And my swimmer? She gets to meet Steve during her own state competition.
