By Jessica on May 13, 2026 ages 3 & up, picture books

Find the SunFIND THE SUN, by Andy Harkness, Bloomsbury Children’s Books, May 5, 2026, Hardcover, $18.99 (ages 3-6)

A boy who struggles with worries learns how to face his fears in Find the Sun, a picture book by Andy Harkness.

Take a leap and find the sun . . .

Eddie doesn’t like Mondays. He’d rather burrow under the covers than face the day.

Then an unexpected friend arrives to take him on a journey.

Eddie is afraid, but that’s okay, journeys can sometimes be frightening. Step by step Eddie grows braver. Before long, he understands . . .

Through any storm, you can always find the sun. —Synopsis provided by Bloomsbury Children’s Books

Find the Sun is a tender story that helps build emotional intelligence. It’s a relatable story that young readers will relate to as they face both big and little challenges.

Kids will be drawn to Harkness’ sculptural illustrations that have a 3-D feel. The layers and textures are beautiful, and are bound to spark many young imaginations.

Find the Sun is a great jumping off point for parents to start helping little ones understand big emotions. It’s a lovely read.
